The vessel, REM STAR, will have 3 freezing holds of 1.250 m3 of total capacity, 3 large compressors using ammonia as cooling media, new factory area for pelagic species and another processing area for crab in the upper deck. A complete pot handling system including pot hauler, pot hauler gantry, rope coiler, conveyers, bait grinder and crane will be mounted on main deck, the vacuum system will be prepared for loading and unloading of fish and RSW system will handle herring and mackerel.
The processing capacity after the vessel rebuilding will be of 160 tons of fish per day, keeping the fish holds at ‐30°C and provide cooling for the RSW system for 2 x 150 m3 tanks. All equipment connected to the PSV services such as mud and cement tanks etc. and systems connected to those tanks shall be removed from the vessel.
The converted vessel will be classed by Det Norske Veritas for fishing activities. Following the rebuilding completion, REM STAR will sail to the Russian far East for her first fishery season.
